Physician Augustus M. Hill was the son of Abram Hill, who arrived in Texas in 1835 and settled in Brazos County. During the Civil War, Augustus served for the Confederacy as a private in Company B of the 26th Texas Cavalry, Debray's Regiment. As part of General Nathaniel P.
